This is a story of Ben Gunn, a hapless sailor marooned for three years on Treasure Island. It's reconstucted with precision from Robert Louis Stevenson's book, and also involves monkeys, the romantic side of pirate lore, and other fascinating subjects...

The Ben Gunn Society is the "Feel Good Hit of the Summer - 2003".

The Ben Gunn Society is a totally hilarious and fun listen and the musicianship is top notch but it's the originality that really sets it apart from everything else. It's totally unique and that's a hard thing to find these days!

If you love WEEN then you will also love The Ben Gunn Society. If you like to laugh then you will love The Ben Gunn Society. If you like fun summer records like the Brant Bjork and The Operators CD then you should also like The Ben Gunn Society. And one other thing that really sets this apart from most stoner rock albums is that it's also perfect for kids!

I really can't recommend this CD enough, but please, listen to it closely several times before you make any decisions about whether you like it or not. It's definitely a grower!

The Ben Gunn Society is definitely doing something out of the ordinary.
