Accolades for Things to Come...
The music is dark and thundering with a heart thumping bass, wailing guitar, and enough classic synth sounds to satisfy the most nostalgic of progressive fans. But there's nothing retro about Yeti's music. The influences are really all over the place and the music is nothing less than edge-of-your-seat gripping. Fans of all things Zeuhl, Rio la Univers Zero, and the heavy complex intensity of King Crimson will drool over this disc. And like Ohm, the varied classic keyboard sounds alone are worth the price of admission.
The music is entirely instrumental, and ranges from slow, drifting and brooding to frantic, powerful and blasting. Often it will start as the former and gradually build to the latter. There's a heavy feel to most of the disc, with a thick, pounding rhythm section, wailing synths and distorted guitar. It reminds me of Magma and a little Red-era King Crimson. There's also a spacey feel here and there.
