This is a band that has the ideal, confidence, chops and the historic knowledge to pay tribute to the sound that they play on their records.

Love this band. Although most of my collection would be classified as `stoner rock`, Wellwater Conspiracy offers something really fresh; a nice contrast to the typical stoner rock band.

What do you get when you put the former Soundgarden and current Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron together with original Monster Magnet guitarist John McBain? A band that doesnt rest on their resumes but instead concentrate on the music and the end result is one of the best releases of 2003. You wont find the droning guitars of grunge here, instead you have a band that harkens back to the late 60s psychedelic pop and Cameron and McBain pull off a beautiful magic trick by bringing the past to the present. On one hand, the songs sound like well crafted pop gems but they also carry a jam band feel with a loose easy flowing instrumentation. Its more experimental feel lands in the territory of side two of Abbey Road or the album tracks from 60s era The Who. I can keep telling you why you should buy this CD but I wont. On the other hand, I cant think of a single reason why you shouldnt buy it.
