Accolades for The Red Veil
Unfortunately for me, I have to base this as an individual album and not as part of a body of work. Its unfortunate because the six songs on The Red Veil are that incredible, and the album made me wish I had their past work. Its semi-proggy, instrumental psych rock, in the same realm as Delicious and Stinking Lizavetta. Theres no studio fuckery here its a solid, live sounding recording. Most importantly, while the instrumentals are sprawling, theyre still songs, not unformed wankery, and this underscores the point that theres no need for a vocalist when the music is this strong and compelling.
