Accolades for The Dawning of the Finite Moment of Now
Gravitron's sound is fuzzed out experimental guitar rock of sorts ranging from space rock to just pure rock plainly put. Some of their stuff is very melodic while other stuff is pretty spaced out stuff with tons of effects and samples. These guys really get down and dirty with their tight precise tunes just as much as their spatial jams...Lots of room to move around this CD to say the least. Also written on the inside of their CD is that they wrote arranged and recorded these songs in a matter of hours. Well, it's a full band complete with keyboards, and yes- I can see the looseness of the fact that it was somewhat thrown together, but at the same time if I hadn't known that I wouldn't have guessed. These guys have a pretty cool thing going, tons of straight forward guitar rock songs back to back with trippy stoner-esque stuff and 100% drenched in psychedelic goodness.
Crafted on nearly a decade of playing music together across the midwest United States, Gravitron forge their own vision of heaviness. Incorporating the sounds of bands they were weened on such as Naked Raygun, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, The Beatles, and Rockford, IL stalwarts, Cheap Trick, Gravitron blends their influences with their own vision of rock heaviness ... the result ... machine gun fire drumming, distortion laced heavy groove guitar, an earth pummeling low-end, and vocals served up with the deepest conviction.
