Accolades for Mysterioso
The newest one from Totimoshi is along the same lines as their last release, only better, more punishing and more relentless... It has the same kind of hispanic/latin feels to it with it's desert sounding guitar riffs and angular guitar/bass lines. The vocals are right up front and strong, the riffs are groovy medium tempo for the most part...high energy and loud, with lots of melody...no cookie monster crap here. Great dynamic effect throughout the whole CD.
This new disc is a major improvement too. I've seen Totimoshi a half dozen times now, and had the first record for a long time. For a while, I thought they were a live band. Now I know they can deliver hard in the studio. Perhaps Alex Newport deserves a lot of credit for amazing analog production. But Tony's guitar has never sounded better. The tone here rivals Buzzo's. The drums sound great, the bass is full and round. Overall, the songs are better. The sound is better. You need this.
