Fra Diavolo has songs on it that sound like they were mapped out carefully and painstakingly on a chalkboard at times. Serious low frequencies that remind me of Boris or early Earth, but actual lengthy written songs that will take your head clean off and confuse the hell out of you at times. Imagine the weird tones and songs of Thee Plague of Gentlemen crossed with Khanate and you are getting close. Definitely progressive along the lines of YOB, but just way darker and more punishing than just about anything out there. Check out Blutch if you like everything from SUNN 0))) to early Melvins. Fans of brutal doom along the lines of Burning Witch will surely love this one.
