The Charlton Heston EP is a trucking short burst of fuzz and heavy riffs. The tunes are represented with slamming solid drums, guitars that are fuzzed beyond control, and a good blend of harmonic vocals thrown in over the top of the whole picture. These guys have a lot of travelling moments on this 5 song EP. The first track is over 10 minutes in length and reminds me of Paul Chain/Hawkwind space rock stuff done very classically.

With "The Charlton Heston EP", Mermaid close a phase in their usual way of compositions of Hard/Doom Rock with progressive and psychedelic influences. Every song is totally different from each other. Long songs, instrumental passages and hard grooves taken from the late 60�s and the 70�s rock�n�roll spirit. Songs with their own style. 5 lysergic, intense tracks, showing tons of variety every time.

I fucking love these guys! Monster Magnet meets Los Natas meets WE! Highly recommended to heavy-psych lovers!
