Accolades for #2
Pharaoh Overlord take huge rock songs and turn them into minimal trance-inducing drones. Drawing influence from 70's drug rock like Pink Floyd, Hawkwind and kraut rock ala Can and Neu!, their 2nd full length sees them venturing further into the void of repetition and psychedelia. That's a pretty deep void, who knows if they'll ever come back. Let's hope they do. Pharaoh Overlord features members of Circle.
Wow! The first thing I thought of when I heard Pharoah Overlord was Lowrider meets Sunn0))). Pharoah Overlord is psychedelic drone rock in the same vein as 35007 "Liquid" album. The songs are long and the tones are warm and fuzzy and there are no vocals. The riffs are cyclic and stoneriffic! If you like 35007 and Lowrider then you should definitely love this one!
Absolutely amazing burning acid rock jams, 60's psych - buzzing trebly guitars spun out echoing vocals. It's mellow, gentle, floating and dream-like. Pharaoh Overlord will take you on a fantastic voyage into inner space. It's colourful, intense, breathtaking, pure instrumental nirvana, I'm lost for words. Classic is the only word for it.
