Accolades for The Banshee Screams for Buffalo Meat
Sextodecimo are a lot like a dead rat - pungent and bloated. The band moves just a little bit faster than the immobile vermin. Aside from that, its very thick and sludgy, and in a way borderline lethargic but not in the least bit boring. Its comparable to a constant repetitive blow to the head, like being beaten retarded by someone so into hitting you that they don't even know you're beyond bleeding and, alas, dead. This is definitely worth checking out if you're into Dot[.], Sloth, Noothgrush, and Eyehategod.
The music is intense. Imagine Charger crawling through a ton of tar. It's the doomier side of sludge.
They look like they come from Inbredsville, Louisiana and, initially at least, sound like a vicious, grinding cross between Extreme Noise Terror and The Fall. Which is a very, very good thing indeed. The best thing about them is that they genuinely don't seem to care too much about current trends , simply churning out a racket that has the edgy desperation of a man slowly and noisily drowning in quicksand. You stick your head as far as it'll go into the bass speaker and let the churning Sabbath riffs and Discharge-like aggression swallow you whole. The result is sometimes messy, but always interesting. There are far worse ways to store up serious health problems for yourself.
