Accolades for The Extra Heavy
Welcome to a new chapter in doom powered brewtality, sinners. As young and relatively scar-free as Mister Bones may seem, they fervently worship at the temples of ancient, ruthless gods of thunder, and they have learned their lessons well. The perfectly titled "Extra Heavy" is just that, a collection of rough and ready gut churners bronzed in the liquid fires of vaunted metal legends like Pentagram, Metallica, and Black Label Society, and spit out with a youthful ferocity that's so authentic that you could close your eyes and easily imagine sawdust on the floor, beer bottles flying through the air, and fists wrapped in barbed wire.
Mister Bones has a sound that reminds me of Orange Goblin quite a bit, but a bit more heavy metal than rock and roll if you know what I mean. Their guitars are crunchy with lots of blues based leads, the vocals are gritty and probably the main reason why I thought of Orange Goblin, that gritty deep sound with lots of melodies.
