Comprised of Starbuck (vocals), Shank (guitars), Blackie (bass), and Crash (drums), Stoner Kings also get some help on this album from Alexi Laiho (Children of Bodom), Marco Hietala (Nightwish), and Eero Kaukomies (Gamma Ray), among others. Not exactly the folks youd expect on a stoner album, but excellent musicians all. Its a solid, albeit workmanlike, effort, with some memorable songs, solid musicianship, and excellent production (name me a band from Finland that doesnt have excellent prod values).

Check out Burn You to Ashes, especially the guitar solo, and the blistering blues harp that opens Sweet Misery. Doomsday Sunrise is a good example of what this slab is all about, a solid rock song with a hint of smoky goodness around the edges.
