Accolades for The Number of the Least
Its riff-oriented instrumental rock that stands on its own, sans vocals. Its closest to Karma to Burn in approach, but without that reckless southern attitude. What they have instead is a sludgy crunch that brings to mind the Melvins and phrasings that arent too far removed from Stinking Lizavetta. The Number of the Least is warm in sound, sloppy in a way all good rock bands should be, and with a guitar tone thats best described as growly.
The Number of the Least, an epic 10 song amalgamation of rock and sludge coated with beauty and darkness. Half of Zero wisely chose to forego vocals, and it seems that finding a complementary fit would have proven futile. The music speaks for itself, and rises above the pretentious level of current instrumental bands. Half of Zero also lacks the repetitiousness, and droning boredom of the aforesaid, as well. Half of Zero's influences, Karma to Burn, Bongzilla, and the Melvins, play a subconscious partner on their first effort.
