I have been waiting for a long long time and now the CD is here and it fucking blows my mind. These thirteen songs are damn groovy. I would say the bluesy side of sludge and the vocals of Charlie are sick...no...insane and unbelievable. I really worship this CD. It�s so heavy and so full of hate. It goes away from that average sludge stuff...damn. Charlie fucking lets your blood freeze. Besides Beaten Back To Pure, Mugwart is the best in sludge!!! One of the best sludge albums this year!!!

Mugwart is definitely sludge, but they have a bluesy, catchy rockin� feel that makes their music less torturous and more fun than most of the more extreme bands in the genre. But make no mistake about it, this shit is HEAVY. Sludgeheads probably remember Mugwart from the killer sludge comps South of Hell & CRUSHERS KILLERS DESTROYERS. Discography collects all their tracks from those comps, as well as assorted 7 inches & split CDs, and throws it all onto one 13-track posthumous CD. Be prepared for an hour of up-tempo Southern sludge, pretty catchy for the genre without sacrificing the down-tuned heaviness. The raw screamed vocals of Charlie Beasley (who posts as Retardgroove) are buried in the mix, indecipherable bellows of pure hatred. A couple of tracks feature background growls from Ben Hogg of Beaten Back To Pure.

Basically, if you like bands like Leechmilk, Cavity, Mistress, Pale Horse, Charger, Meatjack, Goatsblood, Beaten Back To Pure, Eyehategod, Iron Monkey, Molehill, Bongzilla or Dot(.), you will probably really dig this album.
