Keep Your Cool is full of soul/funk influenced simply written songs with laid back beats and tongue in cheek lyrics throughout. If you liked the last Brant Bjork album with the Operators, then this one should be right up your alley.

Very similar in writing to the Operators, Keep Your Cool is full of simple chord progressions reminding me of early 80's pop mixed with fat bass lines followed often by guitar riffs, and often offset with a second guitar doing something totally different on different beats. This is definitely the best album that I have heard out of the solo stuff over the years.

Check out this one if you are a Brant Bjork fan, probably his best effort so far.

You've come to expect a certain unique flavor and turn of groove with a Brant Bjork album. It's back in spades on Keep Your Cool. And god damn if it isn't cool as hell. One of the coolest eight-song albums I've ever heard. By the cactus roots it grabs you. Lots of different things happening on here. Moody, rocking, grooving, noodling, settling. I love this record and can't get the songs out of my head at all. I'm so happy this man is doing his own thing at his own pace, the exact way he wants it. Keep Your Cool is its own thing, another new chapter in the Book of Bjork.
