Accolades for Elaborations of Carbon
Monumental riffed out DOOM. A statement of purpose, a bold step into the void left by Sleep. Slower, more compressed, oozing a monolithic black tar that will make you it`s slave. The "Revolution" here is slower more spaced out with trippy studio knob twiddling sections, great listen while comtemplating the basement lava lamp. YOB kanes like a Filipino death squad. Drawing from Sleep and Sabbath, this homegrown trio creates a riff monster that will give you that "shit eatin` grin" while throwing the goat horns in dooomy, lysergic bliss!
Simillar to the sounds of Goatsnake, but not as sludgy. The vocalist, Mike Sheidt can really belt it out. He hits the high notes with ease and can actually sing quite well. The riffs are of the blues metal variety, crossed with an overall Doom feel. The songs clock in at about 7-12 minutes and are a rollercoaster of riffs and soul. I like it, and you will probably too if you're into Electric Wizard, Sleep and Sabbath. I am sure that there is a soft spot in your heart for YOB.
These 6 recordings are an imperial batter of mega heavy music and
literally paint the room with visions created by sound. For you SLEEP
jonzers, this will be the DOOM fix YOU have been waiting f o r.
Sound influences of early RUSH, Black Sabbath & mid era Neurosis,
these complex arrangements will send you beyond Earth's gravity limits.
