Accolades for Burn the Street Volume 3
Burn the Street Vol. 3, like all the other compilations that have come out this year (and years past), is a high end, professional mix CD for friends, with friends being fans of the genre. The whole purpose of compilations like this is to share music and hopefully turn people on to new acts previously unheard. There were actually a surprising amount of new bands (for me) on here and they show the variety within the stoner rock genre. For every classic sounding band like Nebula or Dozer, theres a Sparzanza or a Chum. As for the tracks that Ive heard before, mention has to go to Hermano, Milligram, and Greatdayforup. As far as mixes go, theyre good inclusions. The Hermano song will be new to most, Greatdayforup are a hard rock band rapidly gaining recognition, and if you arent familiar with Milligram, their track should convince you to do so.
Burn the Streets Vol. 3 is a solid release. Its got a good combination of new and established acts, and there are enough compilation only songs to warrant picking it up.
