35007 - Liquid
2002

Trance. You asked me what you are going to feel. It’s trance. It’s state is “Liquid”. And on top of that it’s “Loose”.... Sorry, we’re in an upside down trance... it’s “35007”. Have you ever been in a coma and rocking out? No? Well, I haven’t been in a coma myself, but I can safely assure you that if you’re in a coma and you’re rocking out - it’s going to sound like 35007’s “Liquid”.
Dutch band 35007 has been going around as somewhat experimental band. Their sound has been wondering around unorthodox parts stonerrock scope and you could be assured that every note will give your ears a totally new experience. And the legend lives on...
..On to their new album which is, as the title states ”Original Sound Track Recording Liquid Music Conceived and Transmitted By 35007” If there is such movie, I don’t know. All I know so far is that no movie could do justice to this album. Except for one going through your mind.
This is one of those works that doesn’t fall under typical rock des c r i p tions. Tsunami, Crystalline, Evaporate, Voyage Automatique are 4 tracks, stories on the album. Each of them will absorb your mind. Each of them will take you through very diverse musical experience. Each of them is will give you clinical death! And drag you, smooth you, rock you, slide you, “Loose” you through it. Mmmmhhmmm. Yes sir.Prepare for takeoff... (and leave behind expectations that this albums gonna give you typical “rock”).
No song on this album can be judged by listening to a 2min sample. Each of them is about 10mins long and full of diversity and incredible flips of moods. You can start by listening to the sound of waves and next thing you know you're facing some deep, powerful riffs. Music on this album is emotions transported by musical instruments, samples and musical genius of 35007. Yes, file this under Masterpiece!!!

Authors note: Contains no vocals.

Yes... It's available in All That's Heavy...

This album is brilliant...

Once, when I was 19, I took a whole lotta shrooms and listened to Sky Valley over and over, and had a great trip on it... "Liquid" gives me that feeling WITHOUT the drugs... I can't wait to try it with the drugs :)

For current 35007 fans, it's better than Sea of Tranquility... and for new fans, it's the best instrumental psychodelic music I've ever heard... It's definitely in my top five releases of the year.

You must experience this. Unfortunately, we can't put up mp3s of it, because all of the songs are over 10 minutes long, and samples of them wouldn't do it justice... Just buy it, make plans to have no plans for about an hour, and enjoy.

I have to say it again: this album is absolutely, definately, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very SPECIAL.
I give you my word, I guarantee you that if you are not imidiately impressed, this album will give you an absolute, total trip AT LEAST ONCE IN YOUR LIFE!!!!

35007 was one of the first bands that I really experienced live. Probably one of the most space band's ever.
Their new album might just be the best they ever made but Im not sure bout that yet.

Im not sure but I think they will play in Zwolle - Holland around december.

Check it out!

Man, I've been looking forward to this album ever since I bought the "Sea of Tranquility" 10" on a whim last winter...that strange hunk of blue vinyl spun on my turntable every night for months and never once did it grow old...
Now as for this full-length..."Liquid" lives up to said 10-incher in every way, and I gaurantee that this record will not dissapoint you. I've never really cared too much for so-called "instrumental stoner rock," but 35007 is something else altogether -- this is more than just an album, it's a total mind-blowing experience. This is NOT a record that you can just put on as background music. "Liquid" demands your full attention -- so warm up your lava lamp, put on your headphones, and prepare to let your mind go....

I got Sea of Tranquility a few months ago after hearing praise for 35007 far too long. LIQUID is absolutely brilliant. This record is THE TRUE SPIRIT OF THE GENRE. I'm not encouraging other bands to rip this sound, but if there were more like this at Stonnerock, Meteorcity, that would be just swell. Music from the outer cosmos. I can't help but envision doing a film of a spaceshuttle or futuristic craft careening through space, riding close to surface level of some planet, weaving in out and deep arroyos, caverns and scaling absurdly high mountain ranges. Mars perhaps. Either way- LIQUID is the score for such a movie. The album is aptly named a 'soundtrack' It's all about how far you'll let your mind take you. This is liquid music, liquid space.

I have to figure out how to get their other records unless Stonnerock is planning on restocking them. Ah, the Netherlands. Home to Astrosoniq too. Gotta love the Dutch.

Can I hear an "Oh Wow'?
"Ehhhhhoooooww Waaaaaooooow!!"
It's the only logical response to this tripped out blend of ambient space music and thundering riffs. Lots of deep, open passages full of layered sounds. Lots to pick out and notice on your 10th, or 100th, listening.
It's not for everybody, but those who like to imbibe and coccoon with their headphones cranked up will probably find this a journey worth taking.

I'm still working on this one, but it seems to deserve being worked on. It grows every time I listen to it.

It demands concentration and having your wits about you IME.

listening to this should be accompanied with some bonghits, hearing it sober was a waste of my time.
and please don't let it grow on you, just listen to it as though you hear it for the first, i listen just once in a while and really get myself overwhelmed by that fucking tsunami everytime. and imo that's what these guys intended.

musically, i would like to compare this to some songs from the Motorpsycho i know from the 'trust us' album (TAIFUN) .also
very tripping.

saw 35007 @ wutzrock-festival/eichbaumsee, germany, without having seen/listened to them any time before.

i´ve been there cause of smoke blow, but 35007 burnt any band that played the festival to ashes.
they got their 70´s video beamer along with them, and their set seemed like an complete acid trip: first you see the optics, then you get rocked, for just calming down again the next second. and just when you start a chill, 35007´ll bomb ya off your couch....

lucky me that they took some vinyls over to germany=D

cause i´m just into psytrance/goa too (sr is sometimes not psy enuff) i would compare this album mostly to psychedelic ambient(chill out) sounds, including some very cool doom parts.

best album after(or during)an acid night, music that will produce images in your head....

but why can i get thier older records via mailorder only??? FUCK MAILORDER!!!

I agree with all the positive statements on 35007. Usually any instrumental band puts me to sleep, but this band holds a special kind of magic in their music on both 'Liquid' and 'Sea of Tranquility'. No sleeping on these two releases.

Has anyone heard their self-titled release from 1997? I had heard they had vocals? Still am interested in purchasing it if ATH restocks again. Any help appreciate! Thanks!

Despite what Lugal Gazedi wrote about not letting this grow on you, I gotta say that the disc just gets better and better with repeated listenings. There's so much here that you could play it every day for weeks and not become totally familiar with it.
The hard part is turning your friends on to it. You can't just play a cut and watch them start rocking. A listener needs time to slide in and immerse himself in this deep pool of liquid sound.

JJSKID - I love the S/T Album... it's closer to Especially for You than Liquid or Sea of Tranquility... The vocals are great IMO, but I think they work better as an instrumental band.

We will be getting more of them in the All That's Heavy store, but they're coming from Europe, so it may take a little while... just keep your eyes on the store, or if you would like to backorder it, I'll ship it as soon as it arrives.

Thanks Randolfio,

I do really dig the band and on your advise, get the self-titled album and the 'Especially For You' if it ever becomes available.

I was going to get it, but missed out. Porbably will go ahead and order it.

Thanks again
