Scandinavia has given not only the U.S., but the world, such fantastic and eclectic music - Opeth, Nasum, Enslaved, etc. Kongh, from Sweden, are another example of that. They have been around since 2004, and have only begun to fight.
Kongh’s music, like their name and reference to the classic 1933 movie, is epic. This demo is comprised of four tracks clocking in at 45 minutes. But like their fellow countrymen, Opeth, they keep it interesting and exciting. There are many different sounds and influences from Mastodon, Opeth, Enslaved, to Neurosis. It never gets boring and the music gets down right beautiful at times. There are heavy, soft, and technical parts. Even with all of these influences, it sounds fresh. They should be signed to a label in no time.
From beauty to ugliness and everything in between, Kongh keep it interesting and honest. They are cohesive and talented; let’s hope we can hear some more good things from them in the future.
