Seid - Among The Monster Flowers Again
Review by: ”hogfeldt” (StonerRock.com)

Release Date: OUT NOW!
Format: CD
I hadn’t heard about this band until I got this CD, but this CD was one of the really positive surprises of 2002... an almost perfect mixture between old school psychedelia and later day stoner rock...
When it comes to the Scandinavian underground scene Norway might not have as many good genre bands as Sweden... but what they lack in numbers, they make up for in quality... bands like WE, El Caco, Gate9, Euroboys, Gluecifer, Camaros, Turbonegro and now Seid spin quite often in my CD-player or on the turntable...
To get a hint of how Seid approaches their music you could only take a look, or rather a listen, to what kinda instruments they use... among the more traditional (stoner) instruments like guitar, bass and drums you’ll also find banjo, sitar, lap-steel, clarinet, mellotron and every kind of retro sounding keyboard known to man...
There’s no easy way to describe the sound... but I’ll try anyway... If you cross the modern day psychedelic sound of The Liquid Sound Company, The Mandra Gora Lightshow Society and The Spacious Mind with the more mainstream accessible sound of The Soundtrack Of Our Lives and Euroboys and throw in some stonerrock sounding riffs and solos... you might come up with something that at least almost sounds like Seid...
This album is so good that it ended up on my Top 22 list of 2002 (that ”feature” is yet to be published). It ended up at the 21 spot, but having listened a little more closely to the album in combination with writing this review I would probably rate it even higher if I compiled my Top 22 today... maybe even top 10...
An album for everyone with a little more ”adventurous” taste that the typical stonerrocker... you know who you are ;)
