The purpose of this feature is to give you an unbiased and diverse look at what the StonerRock.com Community thought were the best albums released in the year 2007. Well, as diverse as possible considering that we`re mostly die-hard heavy rock fans! We`ve provided a total of 3 lists to ensure as much diversity as possible. The first list was compiled from a poll (via our Top 27 Albums of 2007 contest) conducted among the general members of the StonerRock.com Community, the next list is from an individual StonerRock.com Community Member (the winner of the Top 27 Albums of 2007 contest), and the final list was compiled by the Editor-in-Chief here at StonerRock.com, John Pegoraro (aka Arzgarth). We hope these lists provide new fans with ideas for which albums they should pick up first and the die-hard fans with a list of great albums that they`re missing out on.
A great many of the albums listed below are available for purchase in our All That is Heavy store. Those that are available will be linked directly to that album in the store or you can just click here to go to the main page of the store. Sorry for the shameless self promotion but it`s the sales from the store that keep StonerRock.com online - if it weren`t for those sales we wouldn`t be able to bring you this feature. Please support StonerRock.com by doing some of your record shopping with us.
And now onto the feature, starting with the StonerRock.com Community Top 27 Albums of 2007.
StonerRock.com Community Top 27 Albums of 2007

Aron Pinsky`s Top 27 Albums of 2007
(Top 27 Albums of 2007 Contest Winner)
Here it is, my top 27 of 2007. My favorite record was from a band that`s not around anymore. Acrimony, I`d never heard them before but "Tumuli Shroomaroom" is an amazing slab of sticky stoner grooves. Baroness rocked my ass off, a new Clutch record that only proves they are the best heavy groove band in the world and the heaviest record that I heard, the fucking Ufomammut/Lento team up "Superantural Cat"....those guys all scare me. All my picks were records I really find exceptional and thanks to all the artists for fighting the good fight.
And thanks to StonerRock.com, they are the glue of the scene.

Arzgarth`s Top 27 Albums of 2007
(Arzgarth is the Editor-in-Chief of StonerRock.com)
Two hundred and forty.
That`s roughly the number of EPs and albums I reviewed last year. That is, to put it mildly, a veritable shit ton of music. And that`s not even including the stuff I listened to just for fun.
That number is why I always get confused (well, irritated) when people say, There`s no good music out there. No, not every single one of those 240 releases were recommendable, but my initial list of Top 27 contenders started at around 50. And then one by one I whittled it down, leaving some damn good albums by the wayside (case in point We`re All Gonna Die`s Kiss the Ground, Curse the Sky, although that`s technically an `08 release). I still don`t feel my list is 100% accurate, but given that it`s already May, it`ll do.
As always, the list starts in order and after that gets nebulous. Regarding the top five, Solace`s The Black Black is without the greatest album I heard in 2007, and Hackman`s The New Normal is a very close second. I initially didn`t really warm to Earthless` Rhythms from a Cosmic Sky, but one day it clicked. Hard. I think I fell out of my chair when that glorious moment arrived. Shame Club is proof positive that there`s always always, you jaded fuckers worthwhile new music to be discovered, and Peeping Tom is evidence that the good bands, like Roy Batty, burn twice as bright and twice as fast.
So there you go, my Top 27 of 2007. I`d say 2008 will have to bust a serious amount of hump to match 2007, but it`s well on its way already.
- Solace - The Black Black
- Hackman - The New Normal
- Earthless - Rhythms from a Cosmic Sky
- Shame Club - Come On
- Peeping Tom - Music Swop Shop
- Mos Generator - Songs for Future Gods
- Middian - Age Eternal
- Dax Riggs - We Sing of Only Blood or Love
- Stoner Kebab - Imber Vulgi
- Josiah - No Time
- Federale - Self Titled
- Hull - Viking Funeral
- Causa Sui - Free Ride
- Viaje a 800 - Estampida de Trombones
- Dexter Jones` Circus Orchestra - Side by Side
- Clutch - From Beale Street to Oblivion
